When might you get vaccinated?

The New Zealand Government has released a handy online tool to help Kiwis assess when they might be able to get vaccinated. The tool, available on the Unite Against Covid-19 website, has a series of questions for you to answer, which would estimate when  you may get the vaccine.

The questionnaire uses a grouping system to divide people into four groups (Group 1, 2, 3 and 4), which are based on your age and circumstances. By answering questions about your health, location, job, and life situation, you can find out which group you’re probably in, and when you may expect to be vaccinated.

“You don’t need to provide any information that could be used to identify you, and the information you do provide isn’t saved once you leave the web page,” said Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health. “As we move through the roll-out of the vaccination programme, we want people to be as informed as soon as possible about when they can expect to be vaccinated. This tool is designed to make that as easy as possible.”

The dates would depend on when the vaccines are delivered to the country and allocated to providers, and also depend on unforeseen changes. The Ministry plans to have the tool translated into 24 languages, which should be up anytime now. Plus, the tool is accessible via mobile, desktop and tablet.
